1. MOONLIGHT photography calendar

Full moon, full colour – that in itself surprises so many people. This is my first moonlight photography calendar and has been well received. It’s an attractive large format production to go on your wall or – even better – someone else’s, as it’s a great gift item.

Nicely bound in white wire, it features some highly original photography, all the images being long exposures taken around the country. Locations are given under each photo and although the Nelson and Taranaki regions predominate, other images are from Great Barrier Island, from Auckland and two from Horowhenua.

The months are laid out with plenty of space to note appointments, occasions and the like, making this is a really useful calendar as well as a good-looking one. A sample layout can be viewed at the foot of this page.

Some unsolicited comment:

The calendars are absolutely beautiful – MW, Balclutha

The images are georgeous, the cover is stunning, and the printing looks good – rich and sumptuous… I’m impressed. – OO, Wellington.

2. TARANAKI the Mountain Calendar

Moonrise at Oaonui, South Taranaki
Back cover

An A4 size, post-friendly wall calendar, well bound in white wire. It features 13 benevolent views of the region’s defining icon, the volcano also known as Mt Egmont (2518 m, 8260 ft). In probably the first-ever calendar to focus on just the mountain, our commanding gem is shown in a variety of sunny, twilit and moonlit moods.

Apart from one dramatic summit photograph the mountain appears mainly as it does to the townie or motorist – hardly surprising, given that I took many of the photos at the side of the road. These are not simply picture postcard views however, as several would be difficult propositions without a tripod and some experience with long exposures.

The cover image is not as lurid as the pic suggests – it was a magnificent summer evening’s moonrise, the golden orb making its appearance to a round of applause from a delighted country audience.

This would make a special and attractive gift for anyone with Taranaki associations, or for Taranaki residents wishing to send our local wonder further afield.

21 x 29.7 cm (approx 8.25 x 11.75 inches), 250 gsm gloss ivory board, white wire binding. Supplied shrunk-wrapped, with mailing envelope.
